1. Scope

This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how refunds, cancellations, and billing disputes work for paid Rustbox plans, subscriptions, and usage-based charges operated by Orkait.

It applies alongside the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy. If a separate signed agreement, order form, or enterprise contract conflicts with this policy, that signed agreement controls.

For any billing question, cancellation request, or refund request, contact [email protected] from the email address associated with your account.

2. Payments and Merchant of Record

Paid Rustbox subscriptions and charges are processed by our payment provider Dodo Payments, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Dodo Payments is the seller of record for the transaction, handles billing, and collects and remits applicable taxes such as VAT, GST, and sales tax.

Because Dodo Payments is the Merchant of Record, the charge on your card or bank statement may appear as DODO PAYMENTS rather than Rustbox or Orkait.

Dodo Payments's Buyer Terms and the refund handling described here both apply. We process eligible refunds through Dodo Payments back to your original payment method.

3. 14-day money-back guarantee

If you are not satisfied with a paid Rustbox subscription, you may request a full refund of the most recent subscription fee within 14 days of the date that charge was made.

This 14-day money-back guarantee applies to the recurring subscription fee for new purchases and renewals. It does not extend to usage-based or overage charges described in the next section.

Refunds requested after the 14-day window are handled at our discretion and are generally limited to the statutory rights described below.

4. Usage-based and overage charges

Rustbox bills certain activity on a usage basis, including sandbox executions and any metered overage above your plan's included allowance. These charges reflect compute and infrastructure that has already been consumed.

Usage-based and overage charges are non-refundable once the underlying executions or resources have been consumed, except where a refund is required by law or where the charge resulted from a verified billing error on our side.

If you believe a usage charge is the result of a system error, duplicate billing, or unauthorized access to your API keys, contact support promptly so we can investigate and correct verified errors.

5. Cancellation

You can cancel a subscription at any time from the customer portal provided by Dodo Payments or by contacting support. Cancellation stops future renewals.

When you cancel, your paid access remains active until the end of the current billing period that you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate or refund the remainder of a paid period on cancellation, except where the 14-day money-back guarantee or statutory rights apply.

After the paid period ends, the account moves to the applicable free or beta tier or loses paid features, and usage limits for that tier apply.

6. EU and UK right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract for paid Rustbox services within 14 days, without giving a reason, under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and equivalent UK rules.

Paid Rustbox plans and the sandbox service are provisioned and made available to you immediately. At checkout you give your prior express consent for performance to begin within the 14-day period, and you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once performance has begun. This consent and acknowledgment are captured by Dodo Payments during checkout.

If you withdraw after performance has begun but before the service has been fully supplied, you remain liable for an amount proportionate to the service already provided up to the point you informed us of the withdrawal.

Dodo Payments, as Merchant of Record, administers statutory withdrawal and refund obligations for buyers. Nothing in this policy removes or limits non-waivable rights you have under your local consumer law. If your local law grants a broader right than this policy, that law applies.

7. How to request a refund

To request a refund, email [email protected] from the address linked to your account, including the approximate purchase date, the plan or charge in question, and the reason for the request.

We may need to verify account ownership and the original transaction before processing a refund. Approved refunds are issued through Dodo Payments to the original payment method.

Refund processing times depend on Dodo Payments and your bank or card issuer, and the funds typically appear within several business days after approval.

8. Billing disputes and chargebacks

If you see a charge you do not recognize, contact us before opening a chargeback so we can identify the transaction, which may appear under DODO PAYMENTS on your statement, and resolve it directly.

Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks, including disputes filed for usage that was genuinely consumed under your account, may result in suspension or termination of access in line with the Terms and Conditions.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund and Cancellation Policy as plans, pricing, payment processing, or legal requirements change. The last-updated date identifies the current version.

The policy in effect at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase. Continued use after an update means the updated policy applies to future purchases.
